My Story
I discovered Dyslexia many years ago when my son was diagnosed with the reading difficulty. We were lucky enough to have a Dyslexia Therapist in our community. After seeing the results of his therapy, I decided to further my education and become an Academic Language Therapist through the Multi-Sensory Language Institute of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.
My Credentials
The MSLI-NM utilizes the Sounds In Syllables program for their therapy. This is an IMSLEC approved, two year program requiring 700 hours of monitored teaching practice. I completed the program in 2013, passed the Certification Board Exam and started private practice in New Mexico. Four years ago, our family moved to Grand Junction and I started Vector, LLC. In May of 2017, I completed a year-long certificate program in Executive Function and LD: Integrating Strategies, study skills, and technology at Landmark College. This allowed me to enhance my therapy technique and provide additional skills for my students to obtain even greater success in their educational career.
